Hello everyone, Does anyone have the pinout for the scanner to usb cable for a MS509 scanner. My MS509 scanner works using the scanner to OBD2 cable but I cannot get it to connect to my computer. When I plug the scanner into the computer the screen lights up with the title page but the software package to download OBD2 data does not see it connected and my computer makes no attempt to load new hardware found. I have OHM'ed out my usb cable and it connects as followed SCANNER USB pin 13 > pin 4 GRD pin 12 > pin3 pin 11 > pin2 pin 10 > pin1 +5 I would like to know if this is correct. Thanks in advance John

I just use a universal USB -- Mini USB line to connect......But our computer recognize the hardware instantly and pop up a message showing me there is new hardward being linked to the computer.... then everything is OK....Pls make sure your PC can recognize the new hardware.

The MS509 does not connect to the computer using a Mini-usb to USB cable ,it is a proprietary cable that has a db15 on the scanner side and a usb on the other end. Thats the reason I'm asking for the correct pinout of this cable. I think the cable I have maybe built wrong.

sorry I mistaked it with AL519, whose connection cable is a USB cable. ...Just check MS509, your cable is right.... As for the driver, our CD came with MS509 contains the driver software. ...Just install the CD in your computer and it will recognize our MS509.

The software that came with my scanner loaded and shows Maxi-Link V1.01 and 3 additional drivers where loaded when I check add and remove programs in the control panel of WindowsXP. Since then I have removed all and reinstalled both V1.06 and V1.08 of Maxi-link and still cannot get the scanner to connect. As before I plug in USB connector and get no response from my computer that new hardware is being added. Is there anything else that I can do?

Hello Support I ahve exactly the same problem as described earlier. I have Windows XP Professional and it does not respond to the MS509 when connected via the USB cable. I have loaded up the software from the supplied CD but nonway will my PC recognise the device. Is there a new version of the driver software available ? Regards

Support Do you think putting my e-mail address on an open forum is safe. I don't. This forum should have an private message option. All you have to do is reply with a link to Autel site where Maxi_link V2.0 software can be downloaded. it sure isn't here under Support and Downloads>

I agree entirely with JROMAN - there should be a V2 download Maxilink on the support area of the Autel web site. I still have my doubts that even with the later V2 Maxilink software that the USB cable will work. Windows would query any new hardware attached via a USB whether or not there was driver software installed.
